Network Crosscountry have finished the merger of backstage operation level

Under the administrative order issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, Network Crosscountry (NXC) have initialed the merger work with the state operated carrier – Air Bristol under the agreement of three parties including the Bristol City Council. The aim of the order is to have a better utilize the usage of  Bristol Airport and providing more destinations to passengers via a private operator so that the rely on public financial will eventually reduce.

As one of the target of merger, NXC will introduce the newly manufactured EMB-120 30 seat rapid propeller aircraft to national and new regional routes and 149 seat McDonnell Douglas MD-88 aircraft onto new high demand routes from Bristol to big cities in Europe. The company will also rearrange numbers of owned newer British made 75-100 seats BAC111 aircraft to replace all conventional flight operating by aging fleet. The MD-88 also equipped with state of the art avionics and computer system to reduce the workload of our pilots and provide safe and efficient journey. Now passengers will able to have comfortable flights by bring them more seats and bigger airplanes by us. Some of the route will have up to 50% of capacity boost.

In order to reducing affect to passengers, Network Crosscountry decided to commence the “backstage merger”. The “backstage merger” is to merge the administrative operations and management. Network crosscountry will only providing new flights from and to Bristol in order to let services of both airliners remains unchanged to passengers. Customers flying on Air Bristol will continue to check in at ticket counters, and to be assisted by Air Bristol employees, and customers flying on Network Crosscountry will continue to check in at NXC counters, and to be assisted by NXC employees. However, passengers of Air Bristol are now able to join the frequent flying program of NXC – The Voyager by booking any flights operating by Air Bristol and NXC then enjoy benefits by using their miles.

The McDonnell Douglas MD-88 aircraft have 149 seats of economy class and business class

Following the government offered a new financial supporting measure to the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesrepublik Deutschland), which is a one-time supporting included purchasing 5 aircraft made by Federal Republic of Germany. The purchase totally cost£26,925,000. These 5 aircraft will be operated under Network Crosscountry’s commercial flight departing from London Stansted and Belfast, Northern Ireland for connecting European passengers to numbers of their final destinations included Bournemouth, Durham, East Midlands, Kirkwall, Leeds, Norwich, Plymouth, Southampton, Stornoway, St Mary’s Island, Blackpool and Isle of Man day by day.

VFW-Fokker 641 aircraft

The VFW-614 aircraft was equipped safe and reliable flight instrument. It is having 44 seats, which is a half-smaller than the company’s main role British made BAC111 aircraft. However thanks to the wide cross section cabin design, these planes are still very comfortable and having a good hospitality during flight. Sunflower Airlines say good bye to everyone

Sunflower Airlines is going to handover all of it’s franchise to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLT) of Japan Government due of the company could not made the final agreement on upcoming bid of franchise besides routes from Tokyo Narita Airport. This will result the company to quit operating all domestic route of Sendai Airport, all domestic routes of Fukuoka Airport and some Asia routes from or to Fukuoka, all international routes from Okinawa and all domestic routes together with newly operated South East Asia routes of Tokyo Narita Airport.

The company was established in 1995 from the merger of Tohoku Connection based at Sendai, Connecxion Express based at New Tokyo International Airport (Narita Airport in today) and Fukuoka Regional Airline based at Fukuoka. After 14 years of expansion and development, the company is now operating 130 aircraft with average fleet age not more than 5 year-old. The company is now hiring more than 18,000 staff located at 113 airports and flying more than 450 pair of routes.

In commitment of MLT, Sunflowers Airlines will remain part of it’s fleet for the new operator of newly South East Asia routes departing from Tokyo Narita. The company will remain all of it’s business of Sunflower Aircraft Management in order to support the development of other airlines in Japan and providing aircraft source and maintenance services for different customers all over the world.

New cabin design for Airbus A320 and A321 fleet

For over 5 years, Airbus(TM) A320 and Airbus(TM) A321 fleet served airline’s South East Asia routes departing from Narita, Tokyo and Fukuoka. Carried numbers of passengers day by day. Sunflower Airlines is introducing new cabin design of both Leisure Class and Business Class for current Airbus(TM) A320 and Airbus(TM) A321 fleet as the mid life upgrade work. The new cabin will be named as “innoCabin” because of the innovation that sightly improved comfort and user-friendly environment on Airbus A320 and Airbus A321.

Following Sunflower Airlines won another franchise bid of new Tokyo south East Asia routes and secured different destination franchise of Fukuoka from Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLT). The company have ordered 27 brand new Airbus A321 aircraft for network expansion and capacity increasing.

Innocabin also comes with Cabin Management Computer System to help our crew arrangement and adjust cabin condition also notifying them your need and everything inside the cabin are environmental -friendly.

innoCabin upgrade work will be commenced from August, 2007 and finished before the end of 2007. All Airbus A320 and A321 fleet will flying with innoCabin starting from year 2008 together with 27-nes A321 in service.

Boeing 777-200LR Worldliner into service making flight non-stop

The world’s longest-range commercial jetliner, the Boeing 777-200LR Worldliner, marks its first service starting from this month. The newest 777 to enter service is set to change how passengers travel and more flexibility to serve the nonstop routes that passengers demand.

The 777-200LR is capable of flying up to 9,450 nautical miles (17,500 km), enabling the airplane to connect virtually any two cities around the world nonstop. The company is going to put the Boeing 777-200LR Worldliner into South America routes and also flights to Africa letting passengers having a real direct flights.

The GE90-110B1L engines on the new worldliner amassed a 99.7 percent average schedule reliability rate and is in line with 777′s best-in-class schedule reliability.

Himawari Airlines selected Embraer E-jets as regional aircraft and launched EMB-195 aircraft.

Followed 14 years of Himawari Airlines services , domestic services and connection network were well appreciated by passengers for the comfort and convenient. Currently connection network are flying by 68 seats  jet-speed turbo prop – Bombardier Dash8-Q400 and 105 seats Fokker 100 for hub airport connection.

Himawari Airlines decided Embraer E-jets family as replacement of Connection Network aircraft followed by the experience of introduced ERJ145 aircraft before. In order to increase capacity of connection network, 75 and 90 seats EMB175 and EMB190 will participate services that operating by Q400 aircraft. The company also launched EMB195 series with Embraer, which is the biggest jetliner inside Embraer E-jets family for replacing Fokker 100 hub connection routes.

The introduction of Embraer E-jets will increase capacity of Connection Network and reduce flight time. Passengers can enjoy wider seat pitch and new seats design like all new long haul Boeing 777 fleet plus in flight entertainment and refreshment inside the enhanced cabin compare with current planes.

General Electric CF-34 series engine will be equipped on new E-jets family. New engines were designed for low emission and low noise operations. At the same time fleet commonality will be improved by unifying fleet of Himawari Airlines are using General Electric engines.

New planes were expected into services in Apr, 2007.

Himawari Airlines tried to save their competitor – Teiliu Airlines by capital injection

After the 911 terrorist attack and following the impact of passengers demand, another airline company, Teiliu Airlines appeared financial critical situation.

Himawari Airlines understand current economic downturn and diffucult  operating times to worldwide airline companies would need a big protion of human resources and strategies to overcome.

To ensure promt service for passengers of Tokyo and Japan, Himawari Airlines decided to commence capital injection schem in order to save Teiliu Airlines.

The management of Himawari Airlines hope the scheme can at least bringing Teiliu Airlines away from the finacle critical situation.

Himawari Airlines launched Long Range Boeing 777-300

Himawari Airlines today said the Tokyo-based airline had already signed the firm order of 50 and 20 order options of Boeing 777-300ER ( Extended Range) aircraft. The Boeing 777-300ER is the standard of comfort and performance of 21 century jetliner. This biggest twinjet in the world offered a ultra-long range by it’s range to 7500nm that can bringing passengers and cargo from Tokyo to Caribbean sea or from Tokyo to South Africa by 2 powerful jet engine and without any intermediate stops.

Himawari Airlines selected Boeing 777 series as their fleet expansion  foundation by Boeing 777′s high fleet commonality and environmental friendly. Boeing 777 is the first jet liner in the world used laser assembly and fully computer design to provide best aerodynamic fuselage.

The new Boeing 777-300 will be powered by General Electric GE90-115B engine, which provides 115,000 pound of thrust and will become world’s most powerful engine.

“The state of art technology such as fly-by-wire and other avionics on the aircraft ensured safety and lowered it’s operation cost on each flight. The plane has widest commercial plane cabin that will let passengers have the best-ever flight experience. That also proved Boeing 777′s revenue ability, so that’s why we choosed it.” – said Yuuji Izumo, Chief Administrative Officer of Himawari Airlines.

Besides the co-operation partner of Himawari Airlines, General Electric’s product will be installed on the plane. Much of the 777 airplane structure, which includes fuselage panels, the wing center section assembly, wing-to-body fairings, passenger entry doors and wing inspar ribs, is produced by a consortium of Japanese aerospace manufacturers including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Fuji Heavy Industries, Shinmaywa and Nippi.

The Boeing 777-300ER will eventually into service starting from year 2004 on American and Caribbean Sea long haul routes after Boeing 777-300 served key America west coast routes.

一直說住,經已有雨打在螢幕上...

那為甚麼要到787的時代,才會有適合市場的飛機呢?其實不外乎泡沫。在70年代石油危機後的80年代,航空旅行變得普及,在當時低油價而且全球經濟景氣,令人們再一次對航空旅行憧憬,就是大飛機的時代到來了!雖然波音747早在1969年就投入服務,但是隨即碰到石油危機令航空業簫條。結果747等飛機要不在亞洲經濟掘起的國家大展所長(例如日本和台灣),要不就要在越洋航線才可以有所作為。

原本飛機製造商都對200-300座的市場作出了回應,就是為人熟悉的Tristar和DC-10。到80年代的767似乎對這市場的參與者注入了新米。但是到80年代中,由於油價經已沒有威脅,而且先進國家都因為全球化而獲益不少。於是在這樣的前提之下,200-300座的市場趨向300座化,正好迎合了Airbus A300的定位。而越洋航線都因為A300和B767可以有更長的ETOPS航程,令Trijet走出末落的第一步。可是,飛機製造商在想:既然航空利用者的數目都在有增無減,那麼不如趁玻璃座艙化的機會,製造出更大的新飛機,於是就連剛有成果,噴射螺旋槳並用,為了將耗油量壓到最低的Boeing 7J7及GE36發動機都叫停。

就是在這泡沫下,麥道就將其DC-10的新世代產品提升至300座級的水平,就是今天的MD-11。波音就將在747的計劃上再增添747-500X / 747-600X (雖然747-300 Trijet 最後研究證實無甚好處)幾位成員。而且,為了令767更接近300座位級的飛機,波音更設計了767-X計劃,在767-300客機上多加半層,讓波音的飛機全面「長大」。

那時候講有名氣的空巴有甚麼新東西呢?就是建基於A300之上的A330和為了長航程而,共用A330機體發展出來的A340。對麥道來講,MD-11只是第一步。因為期後還有MD-XXLR,就是MD-11的加長版和MD-12巨形客機設計案。總之飛機就越大越好!同一時間,GE和PW看準了時起,共同設立了Engine Alliance 發動機公司,專門為大型客機研發新引擎,希望可以集兩間發動機公司巨頭之力,能穩佔大型飛機世代的市場佔有率。於是,當時波音747-400可以說是最賣座的飛機,因為航空公司都覺得只有747-400才可以應付目前和未來航空旅行的需求增長。連麥道不得不認輸的就是在官方MD-XXLR宣傳品上,都要寫明飛機可以進B744的閘口和使用B744的加油管接口作賣點。

怎樣料到,經濟景氣如果不斷給推高,就是往泡沫化發展,終有一天會爆破。日本在90年代初成為了全世界的第一個,結果下了一大堆747訂單的日本航空自然是受害最深。我們現在坐的飛機,除了波音777和空中巴士A380外,都是在80年代那個環境開發和設計的,所以隨後的亞洲金融風暴、911襲擊、SARS所以令航空算盤打亂的年頭,飛機都幫不了忙,只會要航空公司賠更多錢。於是高油價時期,居然Airbus A340-200/300的break-even率是>104%,跟本飛機怎樣載客都不賺錢其實早就因為飛機對載客量靈活性不足而訂下伏筆。甚至出現小的預上的:小飛機不夠遠,大飛機空太多的情況。因為今天的飛機跟本就沒有考慮過飛航乘客數會不會上升和高油價之下跟本不可以空載太多的狀況,只是預計全部飛機使用者,就是航空公司最差都只會面對1985年客量作設定,而且跟本飛機製造商一開始就覺得飛機空起1/4跟本不是問題。

於是,隨住日本開發F-2支援戰鬥機時將碳纖維材料應用在飛機的經驗,新一代的客機,以787為先,改用碳纖維材料機體,飛機的經濟性和航程得了大幅改善之後,而且更縮短客艙,將載量設定在230-280座的水平好像證明了飛機製造商學明白了甚麼是世情。可是,波音和空巴士他們背後就堅持住自己的看法....

50-60年代,DC-3的出現,為航空旅行平民化踏出第一步時,航班運作的模式和今天可差天共地。當時飛機都會在航空公司的「母港」出發,經多個中途站才到最後的目的地,回程亦然。例如我要攪一個60年代的向日葵航空,航班是去太平洋的話,由東京出發,將會經過台北、香港、馬尼拉、新加坡、雅加達、達爾文、開恩玆、布里斯本最後到悉尼。要是到歐洲的話?精彩了...由東京出發,經台北、香港、曼谷、孟買、杜拜、羅馬...到歐洲目的地方。隨住噴射機面世,到世界大部分地方只需要一個加油停站或者可以直飛,直接令航空公司可以加開大量航班做到點到點模式,就是今天的飛航模式了。波音相信航空業會更往這個方向發展,就是人們會更願意坐飛機由出發地往最近目的地的機場,例如由大阪坐一架787,直接到法國的馬賽,實現小出發地 = 小目的地的構想。

可是空巴就覺得航空業會維持今天的運作模式,就是小出發地 => 大目的地 => 大目的地 => 小目的地。比如說在大阪坐出發往成田供轉機客的航班,乘坐飛機到巴黎戴高樂國際機場之後,才再轉機去馬賽。於是,從大出發地大目的地和越洋航線就會需要A380這樣的巨飛機,一次過把乘客搬送,解決大機場起降時間帶問題。

雖然這場空巴槓波音秀倒很好看,可是他們現在拿全世界來賭來較量有甚麼後果可不能保證。如果世界航空業從現在「進化」到波音模式之間就只會強逼航空公司同時買下A350和787這兩個「天敵」。
